28 Things I Learned In February

The idea for this post came to me last night as I laid in bed reflecting on the month of February. It occurred to me the tremendous growth I’ve experienced in just this one month, and I wanted to compile a relatively succinct list of what I’ve learned for anybody who needs to hear them. I am forever grateful for the individuals who have contributed to my growth this month, even if they don’t know they have. Thank you.
  1. Support your friends in their endeavors. Never doubt their capabilities.
  2. Build a strong foundation of self-love. It’ll not only benefit you, but everyone you interact with.
  3. Don’t be ashamed to read those personal development books that some people like to make fun of. Your personal development journey is much more meaningful to you than anyone else’s opinion.
  4. You’re never too old or too young to start.
  5. Show up as you are and start working toward your goals. The perfect time you’re waiting for won’t happen.
  6. Joy doesn’t find you when the circumstances are ideal. Rather, you invite joy into your life as the result of genuine gratitude.
  7. Forgive others quickly, anger is difficult to hold on to.
  8. Forgive yourself, too. You are worthy of your own grace.
  9. Recommit to your goals each morning, being careful not to allow yesterday to hinder your ability to succeed today.
  10. You were created to be whole on own. If you don’t feel whole, nobody else can complete you except for yourself.
  11. Practicing love, kindness, and compassion will fill your heart to the brim.
  12. Anxiety doesn’t disappear just because the circumstances are more ideal
  13. Taking care of yourself includes eating healthier too.
  14. Some days you’ll feel like you failed. That’s okay. Just remember to forgive yourself.
  15. Yes, you can.
  16. Joy and anxiety can coexist.
  17. Spend less time on social media and more time learning and empowering.
  18. Eating healthy is empowering.
  19. Nobody is inherently evil. Force yourself to feel compassion for each and every individual, no matter how difficult it is.
  20. Forgiveness doesn’t mean you approve of a wrongdoing. Rather, you are choosing to not to give into anger and hate by not losing sight of the other person’s humanity.
  21. The energy that you put out into the universe will come back to you, multiplied.
  22. Don’t be afraid to trust your intuition.
  23. Your words matter, and they can change the world.
  24. “You are not your emotions; you feel your emotions. You are not your body; you look at it in the mirror and experience the world through its eyes and ears. You are the conscious being who is aware that you are aware of all these inner and outer things.” -Michael Singer, The Untethered Soul
  25. No matter how much or how little you have, give.
  26. Who you follow on social media can and will affect your energy, choose wisely.
  27. Being sensitive isn’t a weakness.
  28. Small acts of love and kindness each day can change your whole life.
